The objectives of the Work-Life Research Centre are to:

  • provide a forum for the exchange of information, research findings, experience, perspectives and practices across a variety of audiences, in Britain and abroad, including researchers, practitioners, trainers, policy-makers and other groups interested in work-life issues and socially sustainable work.
  • undertake leading edge research to increase understanding and stimulate critical thinking about the relationships between employment, care, family, leisure and community;
  • influence and respond to current policy debates relating to work–life issues
  • promote action research working with organisations promoting the dual agenda of work-life integration and workplace effectiveness (maybe click to a link)
  • be a knowledge recourse - knowledge transfer
  • bridge research and policy and practice
  • encourage post graduate activity in the field- to develop the new generation of work-life researchers
